PNG to JPG Converter
Turn a PNG into a JPG right in your browser — no upload, no waiting. Pick a quality level and get a smaller file, ready to download in seconds.
Everything runs in your browser — your image is never uploaded, sent to a server, or stored. Nothing leaves your device.
How it works
Choose your PNG and the tool re-encodes it as a JPG using a quality slider (default 90%). Higher quality keeps more detail but makes a bigger file; lower quality shrinks the file further but looks rougher. The picture's width and height stay exactly the same — only the format changes. Your download keeps the original file name, just with a .jpg ending.
When to use it
Use this when you want a smaller file for a photo and don't need to keep any transparent background — say, before emailing a picture or posting it on a page that doesn't need a see-through logo. If your PNG has transparency you care about, convert to WebP instead, or use the Image Resizer if it's really the dimensions you want to change.
Frequently asked questions
Will converting to JPG lose quality?
Yes, a little. JPG is a lossy format, so it throws away some detail to shave off file size. At the default 90% quality, most images look very close to the original.
What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?
JPG can't store transparency at all. Any transparent pixels in your PNG turn solid black once converted. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or stay with PNG instead.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole conversion happens in your browser using a canvas element. Your file never leaves your device.
